Questions need to be answered in the “A” division. 1. Will the Cannoneers be tested in the playoffs? 2. Can Legends put it together once again for a 2005 super sweep? 3. Will W.T.’s finally make it to the show? 4. Can Café capture the magic of last season in time for the playoffs? In the next two weeks these questions will be answered and one team will open a trophy for the holidays. Clearly the Cannoneers are the team to beat but we say that every year and one or two Sunday’s per year they falter leaving the door wide open for another team to capture the title.

The jokes about the Lynn’s Uptown Gamecocks may continue but the team searching for a playoff spot early in the year now find themselves in their first “B” division super bowl. Early in the year the Gamecocks mistakenly used an illegal player and forfeited a game they won on the field. The loss damaged the team moral and might have cost them a playoff spot. The Gamecocks turned a negative into a positive and marched through Sunday with two exciting wins over good teams. First the Gamecocks knocked off Marx’s Roofing a title contender 26-25 and then defeated the Untouchables 17-14 extending their season one more week. Sunday the Gamecocks will need to play their “A” game to defeat the Black & White Express on their home field.

Three of the four finalists played one game Sunday after earning a first round bye in the regular season. The only team winning two games Sunday was the Chiefs a team the league knew was good but waited until the playoffs before waking up. In the morning the Chiefs survived an upset beating the Firebirds 32-31 and then defeated their archrival Barnstormers 19-7 showing they can play defense. The Silver Bullets and Dynasty rolled over their opponents and the Growlers used defense to beat B & B 16-7. If you want to see some great games Sunday come to Ridge Park and watch the final four battle it out.
