OUR SOURCES TELL US THEY ARE CLOSE TO A DEAL WITH FREE AGENT TIGHT END PAUL "LITTLE BANANA" PATANE. PATANE IS A FORMER STANDOUT OF BETHELEHM HIGH SCHOOL. HE HAS MORE RECENTLY BEEN PLAYING IN THE CALIFORNIA PENAL LEAGUE FOR THE PAST TWO SEASONS. PATANE WAS UNAVAILABLE FOR COMMENT BUT OUR SOURCES TELLS US HE IS EXTREMELY EXICTED ABOUT JOINING THE TEAM AND BECOMING A WINNER AGAIN

| The Aztecs talked with confidence during the off-season and everyone seemed to be laughing under their breath. People stopped laughing Sunday as they put together a dominating 20-0 victory over South Troy in their “A” division debut. Granted South Troy is no powerhouse but they are a group of “A” division vets. Scoring 20 points is not easy in the “A” division and credit should be given to the “B” champs for a job well done. Next Sunday they wait and watch enjoying a bye before taking on Café Italia the following week. |

| The East Side Boy’s camp seems a little concerned after a 12-7 opening day loss to Mayhem, a team that moved up from the “C” division even though they did not make the championship game in the fall. I give credit to Mayhem for the move but East Side a legit super bowl contender cannot afford to many stinkers with an 8 game schedule. Granted 4 of 6 teams will make the playoffs but you always want a top seed. Twenty-four teams joined the “B” division this season an all time high. I would not be surprised if one of these former “C” teams jumps up in the end. |

| Yes, the same Silver Bullet team that embarrassed themselves last fall are now back with a vengeance. I should say the same team name and coach but the roster has been replenished with the player’s from the past that made the team such a powerhouse. In a dominating offensive show they destroyed Lark Tavern Beer Guys 51-12 and shot to the top of everyone’s top 5 list. I know the Beer Guys are not among the top teams yet but 51 points hurts. |
