Apologies to Mean Machine....
I sold the team out today. Mike Cancer paid me 2 double cheeseburgers to let him sack the qb. He got two today because of it and I am totally ashamed!! Superman has his kryptonite, and now you know my weakness. I am sorry!!

"A" DIVISION
THRILLER @ HOFFMAN PARK
The Titans, without Gary Jones, put up a valiant effort today against the stingy defense of the Savages.  Ben Dooley gave the Savages a halftime lead of 6-0 on two long field goals of 35 and 42.  The Titans defense did everything they could to keep them in the game and through regulation held the Savages to those two field goals.  A tipped pass that Keith Daly caught for a td with a little over two minutes to play, tied the game late, but a miscue on the snap kept the score tied.  Phero Ward then did a great job driving the Savages down to about the 10 yard line, and set up Dooley with a chip-shot (for him) fg to win it, but he was wide right and into OT they went!!  Into the third OT, and on 4th down, Phero hit Anthony Ward with a touchdown pass over the middle scoring the Savages first td this season.  The Titans then took over on offense and two plays later, CJ Tarver threw an errant pass that was caught by DB Chad Gamache to seal the victory for the Savages.

"B" DIVISION
“FINDING THE EDGE”
An eight game season is short in sports. Losing your first two games and making the playoffs can be close to impossible. Sharper Edge a talented yet relatively new team found themselves 0-1 and facing a dangerous Jiff-e-Mart team coming off an impressive victory. A loss would be devastating, a victory would set the tone for the rest of the season. The latter happened Sunday as extra-points we’re the difference once again. An exciting 20-18 nailbitting win for coach Pete Rock and his crew made Sunday bitter sweet. Each team now faces an uncertain future. Will Jiff-e-Mart crumble like in years past? Will Sharper Edge gain confidence off this victory and become a playoff contender? Only time will tell!

"C" DIVISION
OLD SCHOOL TEAMS FIRE AWAY
For the first time since 1999 the Buccaneers and Rotterdam Raiders played an outdoor game against one another. The game renewed a great rivalry between old timers Glenn Posca (RR) and Ron Miller (BUCS). The game did not disappoint as the teams traded scores all game. In the end the Bucs leading 33-26 could not run the clock out and gave the Raiders one last chance. A jump ball finished off a great drive and the kicked XP tied the score at 33 ALL! Overtime seemed inevitable, but the Bucs gambled on 4th down and turned the ball over to the Raiders with less than a minute remaining in regulation. The Raiders gave Brendan O’Brien a chance and he came through with a 33-yard FG as time expired.

CO-ED
CAPITAL WIN
In the game of the day Capital Bauer used a stifling defense to swarm Maggies Sports Bar and come away with a 13-12 victory. Once again the game came down to extra-points. Maggies did not convert going 0-2 for the day, and despite scoring two TD’s each, the game hinged on the crucial point after attempts. Maggie’s looks like they may break out this season and Capital will try and build off a strong fall season. In other news the super bowl rematch did not disappoint as Quigley’s defending their fall title scored a 20-13 victory over the Shockers. Quigley’s replacement for Male MVP Gee Rowe is Shane Bishop, and he garnered MVP honors for the opener.
