| After defeating the Cannoneers last week Black & White must have felt very confident coming into Sunday’s game against W.T.’s. The Mean Machine came into the game 2-2 and struggled defensively against teams with a good offense. Black & White suffered what is now called the Cannoneer hangover. If you beat the Cannoneers you face the probability of a let down the following week. A let down + W.T’s best defensive effort of the season = A BIG 14-0 W.T.’s victory. The W.T.’s Offensive line did the best job of the season containing the best defensive line in the league allowing QB Jason Sheehy just enough time to complete some big passes against a somewhat confused secondary. The “A” division is now a cluster of teams fighting for playoff seeding with three weeks remaining. |

The Knights distinguished a Blaze Sunday in one of the great “B” games of the season. An 18-12 overtime victory improved the Knights record to 5-0 heading into the holiday break. The Blaze tried to set a fire big enough to kill the Knights but fell short failing to score in the overtime period. Each team features a top five defense, throw in the field conditions and you have a made for TV game. Although the Blaze fell to 3-2 I expect them to be in the playoffs come June.
In other news an absolute barnburner of a game went to overtime as Jiff-e-Mart defeated Quigley’s 34-33 in a sloppy shootout. Quigley’s needed the game much more then Jiff and now face the possibility of not making the playoffs. |

| The Hawks and Lark Tavern each 2-2 entering the game played a very important divisional contest with playoff hopes on the line. In the end the Tigers blasted a pitch over the wall for a 19-14 victory improving their record to 3-2. The victory puts the Tigers in great shape for a playoff spot with 3 games remaining. It was nice to see two of the great guys of the CDFFL coach against each other in Madden and Chichester. |
