"A" DIVISION
NEW YORK CITY CONNECTION
Despite a last second FG by the Cannoneers Jim Shellenberger the Rucks 17-14 loss holds promise. Last week The Ruck learned star QB Justin Kastner would be sideline up to two months with a shoulder injury. The first game without Justin proved a disaster as Gee Rowe and Sean Condi stepped in and the team got pounded by the Savages. As the roster deadline approached head coach Mike Keller looked south to former all-city standout Chris Anderson from the Bronx. Anderson, the Herbert Lehman H.S. product looked poised and sharp in guiding his new team too two TD passes, one on fourth down and the game on the line. Keller told Commissioner Rogers “we will go on a four game winning streak”.

"B" DIVISION
CHIEF RAIN STOPPER
Indians we’re known to make rain when needed. On Sunday the Chiefs stopped a three week storm using timely offense and great defense to improve their record to 3-0. The Storm may have ended and the team fell to 3-1, but the future looks bright half way through the season. There is no shame losing by two points to the Chiefs and I expect The Storm will be a force to be reckoned with as the second half of the season begins Sunday.

"C" DIVISION
TIME TO RECOVER
The Red Front victory maybe shocking to everyone except Red Front! The Fronts victory over the Recovery Room Growlers (21-0) sent the Troy division into “shock”. Six teams are 3-1 and atop the Troy “C” division with four weeks to play. The league may want to take notice of the #3 ranked defense in the “C” division at 6pts per game and understand the shutout was no fluke. The division winner in Troy will not be undefeated and tie-breakers will surely come into play.

CO-ED
FAST START
In keeping with the Kentucky Derby, the starts by Andy’s Maniacs and the Bushmen are very impressive. When you jump the gate at 3-0 you have a leg up on the rest of the field. Quigley’s (Big Brown) is also 3-0 and we expect them to finish strong. But the coed season is a full 8 furlongs and one must wonder if these two teams are fast starters thanks to the strength of schedule or in it for the stretch run as the schedule gets tougher. Only 8 of 14 teams will make the playoffs and 3 victories can never be taken away. Will the 0-3 Shockers defending runner-up catch a burst as their schedule gets lighter or will the second year philly (Coach Maria Moffa) let the pack get away? Time tells all!
