Haven't thought of anything else yet Frank, but Pete Vigo as the Sportsman of the Year sounds perfect. I guess the only reason I'd have is your words... he's what the league is all about.
Jeff, Growlers Coach |
“C” Division I must say Shane Bishop had a break out week. After last weeks goose egg on offense he came back to throw 5 touchdown passes including a game winning one in overtime.I have to include that this was against the undefeated Jiff-E Mart who played a hell of a game. Oh yeah he also hit 4 extra points to keep us tied for the game! To nominate player of the week, post your nomination on our announcement board by 10:00am Monday. |

| Once again the so-called aging team wins the division title. Yes, the Cannoneers the team the officials and commissioner love while making sure their team wins every year has one more title to post on their resume. Imagine if this team had to win 13 titles without the help of the league! Sarcasm aside the Mean Machine had the best chance Sunday in the divisional title game and scored first before losing 21-8 and dropping to the 3rd seed behind Legends. Café Italia the only team to beat them (Cannoneers) during the regular season needed to win their remaining games for the title but failed and finished fourth. $6,000 cash is on the line for the “A” champion and the Cannoneers are once again the favorites, but this season the margin is smaller. |

| Imagine your team just won the “C” championship and your now in the “B” division without your MVP QB (Kenny Schaefer). Your team stumbles out of the gate at 1-2 and with an 8 game season you can’t afford many more slip ups. Now the QB comes back and your team rips off 5 in a row against some stiff competition. On Sunday Nico’s / World One defeated Marx’s Roofing Storm (Super Bowl Runnerup) 20-18. World One will now try and become the first team in CDFFL history to win the “C” and “B” championships in back to back seasons. On Sunday they must knock off Lynn’s and then the Finke/Blaze winner. |

| The Chiefs from Troy went 8-0 winning the division title and earning the number one seed overall. The bad news is the bracket is brutal and more deserving of a middle seeded team. The Chiefs must face division rival O’Leary’s Lions in the first round and if they win have a tough game against the Vipers / Growlers winner. Of the four brackets the Chiefs have the toughest. The four teams in the Chiefs bracket are a combined 26-6 this season. |
