"A" DIVISION
“A”, “B”, “C” WHO CARES WERE 2-0
Many thought the Knights win in week one was a fluke because the Untouchables were missing some key player’s. Well a 14-7 victory over Legends Sunday proved to me the Knights are for real. Yes, we have six games to go but a 2-0 record is still a 2-0 record. Many of the vet “A” teams take the regular season lightly due to the fact all the teams make the playoffs. But a young team playing their first “A” season needs the confidence in the regular season for two reasons. Number one, keep the players from jumping ship before week four. And two, gain the best seed possible for the playoffs in November.

"B" DIVISION
OVERTIME THRILLER!
In my opinion the Falcons should run over this division. With seven teams in Albany and four of them playing their first season in the “B” you would think the division would be easy. On Sunday one of the .500 clubs from the past (Quigleys/Scale) gave the Falcons all they could handle before losing in overtime 13-12. The merger is a good idea but has produced a 0-2 start.

In other news O’Leary’s and Strike Zone fresh off a super bowl match up took to the field, only this time one level higher. The result was exactly the same a 7-6 victory for O’Leary’s now 2-0.

"C" DIVISION
SHOT OF BOURBON!
In an early season battle of unbeatens the Bourbon St boys defeated a tough Misfit team 34-28 in overtime Sunday. Bourbon St. averages 29.5 points per game and the Misfits not far behind average 28 pts per game. That explains the high scoring game. The problem for these two high scoring teams is defense. Bourbon St. in better shape gives up 18.5 per game. But the Misfits will struggle this season if they continue to average 24.5 per game. Offense wins regular season games, but defense wins championships. November can be a cruel month for high powered offenses.

METRO-FORD Mallers Weekly News!
Someone had to pay for the Mallers first league loss of the season last week. Unfortunately for the Scranton Eagles the trip to Albany was not a kind one. Albany pummeled Scranton 40-7 and improved to 8-1 league and 11-2 overall. Running Back Sylvester Cooperwood topped the 1000-yard mark for the season and will try for the overall record in the coming weeks.

The Mallers will finish the regular season Saturday and will most likely have a first round bye for the playoffs.

CO-ED
SUPERBOWL REMATCH KICKS OFF SEASON
The Silver Bullets started the season just like they left off the spring season, with a win over Quigley’s 28-14. The Bullets looked crisp on offense marching the ball downfield at will. Quigley’s on the other hand struggled without Craig Kimbrough their star receiver and QB Billy’s Brozowski’s main target last season. Quigley’s picked up safety Mrc Lawler but by rule he cannot play offense. Quigley’s will be good this season, but the Bullets look unbeatable.
